American sales tax loopholes

It’s funny to see how the American sales tax loopholes work.

Apparently, if you buy something from an out-of-state seller, then they can still outsource the delivery of the product to a local supplier in your state.

In such case, the wholesale supplier in, say, California simply direct ships to one’s California address, whereas the purchase is billed to some Michigan or Ohio corporation, which is not billed for any sales taxes as such. And the said Michigan or Ohio corporation would not be billing any sales taxes to the final consumer in California, either, as the corporations themselves have no presence in California!

The scheme is seriously absolutely brilliant! And, the thing is, it’s as American as apple pie!
