0. I purchased T-Mobile myTouch 4G from T-Mobile in early July 2011.
1. Prior to purchase, T-Mobile promised phone firmware improvements, outlined in various literature, including a claim on http://mytouch.t-mobile.com/ to the effect that upgrades to the Android operating system should be taken for granted. At the time of this very writing now on 1st November 2011, the claim titled, “No phone left behind”, on http://mytouch.t-mobile.com/mytouch-4g reads as follows:
«When you buy a myTouch phone, it just keeps getting better. With enhancements of key features, upgrades to Android, and tips on how to get the most out of it, your myTouch improves over time!»
2. It is known that a major update from 2.2 to 2.3 for this very device has been available since the August timeframe; however, T-Mobile refuses to provide this update either as a download on their web-site, or as an Over-The-Air update to be pushed directly to the device. No plausible explanation is ever given.

I highly suggest other disenchanted Android users to do the same.
